Frequently Asked Questions

How are lessons structured? ...What should I expect?

Lessons include warm-ups, technique, sight-reading, and song work. Instrumentalists will be guided on which books to purchase; singers will receive help selecting repertoire suited to their voice. Teachers welcome your input, if you’d like to sing or play something specific, let us know and we’ll direct you to the right music for your level.

Do you offer a sibling discount?

YES! Families with more than one child enrolled receive 10% off tuition for the second child.

Do you offer virtual lessons?

No, we do not offer virtual lessons at this time. BUT we’re working on a reliable virtual option, so check back soon.

What should I bring to lessons?

Bring your music, instrument, and a positive attitude! We also recommend recording lessons on your phone’s voice memo app so you can revisit “aha” moments and use them to guide your practice.

What if I'm not ready, or times that fit my schedule are already booked?

No worries! We will add you to our waitlist, and give you a call when availability opens back up.

How much do lessons cost?

We have a flat rate monthly tuition for 50 or 30 minute lesson options. We also charge a one time $25 registration fee upon enrollment. To learn more about our monthly rates, give us a call or send us a message!

Will you provide music or do I buy my own?

We may ask you to purchase a method book and will guide you on what to buy. For pieces of enjoyment, if we have the sheet music already on hand, we will absolutely share it with you! However, if we don’t we recommend checking out some of these sites:

Musicnotes.com – instant digital downloads for voice, piano, guitar

SheetMusicPlus.com – huge library for all instruments

Hal Leonard / Alfred Music – great for method books & popular titles for instrumentalists

8notes.com- free online resource for all types

IMSLP.org – free classical scores

Do I need my own instrument?

Yes, you do! For your lessons and to be able to practice on your own. We will guide you in either a rental or purchase of an instrument if you do not already have one.
